FAQ

QUESTION 1.) How do I clean my accessories?

ANSWER 1.) Cleaning your accessories Cleaning is simple and easy; take a look below to see which is the best method for your piece. Gold plated or pyrite: In a bowl combine a few drops of mild dishwashing soap with warm water. Let your pieces soak in this mixture for about 15 minutes. If you want to get into fine areas of your piece, gently take a soft bristle toothbrush to it. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. If you want to give your piece an extra shine it can be done with a polishing cloth.
Sterling Silver: Create a paste by mixing baking soda and warm water. Run this mixture back and forth through your piece. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. If you want to give your piece an extra shine it can be done with a polishing cloth.
Gold Vermeil: Take a soft and dry cotton or microfibre cloth and gently clean your piece. Do not clean with water or chemical cleaners, these will strip away the gold finish.

QUESTION 2.) How do I store my accessories?

ANSWER 2.) Storing your accessories

We recommend storing each of your jewels separately to avoid scratches. Place your pieces in a pouch or an airtight plastic bag (especially sterling silver and gold vermeil to prevent oxidation and tarnishing). To avoid tangling your necklaces and bracelets, close the plastic bag over the end of the chain and let the end dangle out slightly. Be sure to keep your jewelry away from extreme heat or moisture.

QUESTION 3.) How long is production?

Typical production time is approximately 1-15 days from the time payment is received depending on if it is a custom order or not. This time does not include shipping time, so please plan accordingly.

Large custom orders require a longer production time. For these orders, Ashaleé ACA will be in communication regarding estimated production & shipping times.

*Please note that processing time only includes the time to make the nails. NOT how long it'll take for your nails to be delivered. Shipping time is dependent of what you pick at check out. Currently, all orders take approximately  5 business days to process, please keep in mind that if you order more than one set at a time there may be a delay in processing time. Bigger orders take longer to complete which in turn causes some delays.  All sets are made to order and worked on, in the order they were received. Please note, THESE TIME FRAMES ARE JUST AN ESTIMATE. We do not guarantee that your order will be shipped within this time frame. Could last up to a few days if a dab of glue is applied at the center of the nail for a better hold.

*We do not recreate press on nail designs from other sellers.

QUESTION 12.) How do I apply my press ons?

ANSWER 12.)

  • Step 1: ID your nail size

When determining what size of press-on nails to use, the right fit should lie flush with the edges of your natural nail bed, perfectly covering your whole nail. To help make the process easier, there is a number system when it comes to sizes. The numbers go from biggest to smallest, with zero typically being for thumbs and higher numbers for pinkies. Once you ID your size for each finger, write it down in your phone, so you remember for future applications and don’t have to spend time on trial and error.

  • Step 2: File and prep your nails

Prepping your nails for press-ons doesn’t differ much from what you would (ideally) do for a regular polish mani. Pushing back your cuticles, cutting your nails down and giving them a gentle buff to create a rough surface so that the glue can bond well is recommended for a better hold. You also want to get your nails as clean as possible. Washing your hands before getting started and swiping an acetone-based remover over your nail beds to get an extra-clean surface, which will help with adherence.

  • Step 3: Glue down your set

Your nails are sized and your fingers are prepped, so now it’s go time. To achieve the best application results. We recommend applying one nail at a time and not rushing it. Apply a small amount of glue onto your natural nail plate. For the sturdiest hold, we recommends applying one or two drops of glue and then spreading it across the entire surface of your nail for a thin, even coat. Then, apply your press-on nail right away and hold it in place for 10 seconds before moving on to the next finger. To ensure your nails are secure, we advises placing your press-on right up to the cuticle leaving no gaps or exposed nail bed.

  • Step 4: Shorten and shape them

Now that your nails are on (hooray!), if the length is too long for your liking, simply file down the press-ons to your desired length. Filing and contouring the sides of the nails will give a more natural and streamlined look. Always using your file at an angle underneath the nail and never directly on top of the press-on because you may end up filing off the colour or design. And if you’re tempted to cut them at all with nail clippers, don’t! It can damage and crack the nail.

  • Step 5: Make them last

Now that your application is finished, you want those babies to last, right? To get the most out of your newly applied manicure, we advise against soaking your nails in warm or hot water as this can cause the press-on to swell and pop off. (Pick up some dish gloves, stat!) Another no-no: using your nails to open cans or jars, as it can weaken the hold of the glue.

QUESTION 13.) How do I remove my press ons?

ANSWER 13.) Removing press on nails

If you decide to remove the press on nails, begin by soaking your nails in warm soapy water. For adhesive tabs, soak the nails for about 5 minutes while soaking them for between 10 and 15 minutes if you used liquid glue.

Once you see that the glue is a bit loose, you can use a wooden stick to remove them from the cuticle side gently. But, if you know that it’s difficult to push the press on nails, soak them in warm soapy water again for an extra few minutes.

Remove glue residues on your natural nails by using a pink filer. It is essential to apply cuticle oil to moisturize your hands and nails after the procedure.

DO NOT soaking in acetone as it can damage press on nails and may become not reusable.
